Bicycle hire
Taking the bus in Tongatapu
Tongatapu has two bus terminals on Vuna Road in the heart of Nuku’alofa, one responsible for eastbound services (Nakolo, Mua, Niutoua) and the other westbound (Ha’atafu, Foui, Nukunuku). There are also two bus stops in the heart of Neiafu on Tu’i Road and Fatafehi Road. Buses run from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday
On Tongatapu, buses cover the west side, east side, and areas around Nuku’alofa.
Buses operate from 7 am to 5 pm on weekdays, with earlier finishes on Saturdays. Each route typically has about three buses running. It’s advisable to plan your return journey from destinations outside Nuku’alofa by 3 pm to ensure you can return to town.
